The AI Research Initiative @ UVA aspires to cultivate the next generation of AI researchers and practitioners, establishing a dynamic ecosystem that transforms AI advances into solutions for critical problems in the Commonwealth and beyond.
To achieve national leadership in AI, UVA is pivoting from isolated pockets of excellence to a unified “Networked University” model. We will advance scholarship by encouraging team science, supporting interdisciplinary seed funding, and providing computational and knowledge infrastructure at a scale necessary for field-shifting breakthroughs.
